Free/Open Source animation software

Some interesting animation apps that I didn’t know existed. I'm planning to do some frame-by-frame hand-drawn animation, not going for a Flash vector look, so it's probably one of these or Photoshop layers.

Facebook ads

I don't have much experience with this, but I need to know our options for advertising on Facebook.

If your ad is running in an app, there's a lot you can do.

If it's running on your FB page, there's no HTML5, just static images, videos, animated GIF, and a richer templated thing called FB "Canvas". I keep links here for my own reference —

responsive ads on NYTimes

The Times will begin phasing out the industry-standard 300x250 and 300x600 pixel banner ads that currently appear on the right-hand side of its desktop webpages.

Instead, the Times will introduce horizontal Flex Frame ads, which will appear along the top of webpages, between paragraphs in article pages and in feeds of content elsewhere across the site. These ads will be designed to better match the Times site, and will dynamically adjust in size and layout across different devices and window sizes.
