Monotype for web fonts

I still don't see a strong argument for using web fonts in banners, unless you're doing a lot of dynamic text. Even then, it's not always the best approach, due to file size.

Monotype is eager for the day to come, which it surely will, when ads are mostly using web fonts.

web design is dead?

I'm surprised at this point in my working life to be making an income merely by pushing buttons on a CMS. I'm not directly using my background in typography, html, javascript, or even web design. My main task is to copy and paste URLs into online forms and spreadsheets. What happened? It's just the inevitable consensus as we approach the place where the bottom line is formed. Creativity seems interesting at first, but in the end, business concerns win out.

Eventually the robots will learn to feed themselves. Meanwhile, I'm lucky to have my boring and slightly stressful job.
