People would like to see less advertising, but the system demands growth in every direction, meaning yes there can be new payment systems but I don't see ad banners going away.

safari 6.1 plugins turned off by default
It took me a while to figure out why our Flash banners weren't animating in the current version of Safari.
It turns out this is a user preference: under Advanced, uncheck "Stop plug-ins to save power" in order to see your beautiful ad banners come back to life.
Clicking on the Flash element also starts it up, but you shouldn't have to do that.
